PC2 & BC2 Laboratory Upgrade and Refurbishment.

Steadfast Projects was engaged to refurbish a PC2 laboratory that was in various stages of operation throughout the build period.
Careful management and planning was required to ensure there were no major disruptions to the laboratory's operations. For this to happen we utilised a staged approach.
Within each stage construction noise and dust was successfully kept to a minimum. The project required us to complete shutdowns on services such as power, fire services, hydraulic and laboratory gasses.
Great care was taken and works fully scheduled ahead of time to ensure user groups were informed of all actions, including shut down times and durations.
As part of the process we had the privilege of working with Richard Sale from SLA Consultancy, a third party consultant and assessor engaged to ensure all the work undertaken was up to the rigorous standards required for a PC2 laboratory refurbishment.
With his expert support we delivered an end product that met all the various specifications of the highly regulated laboratory environment.

The actual work as completed for this refurbishment included an upgrade to the complete containment boundary around the 800m2 laboratory, extensive upgrades to the mechanical system, relocation of laboratory gasses, the construction of a new secure laboratory within the existing laboratory, electrical works, painting, hydraulics, glazing works and the replacement of ceilings in some areas.
